PURPOSE:To obtain an image-receiving sheet having satisfactory printability by forming a dye image-receiving layer on one side of a backing sheet and by bringing both sides of the obtained laminated sheet into contact with an atmosphere having a specific relative humidity. CONSTITUTION:A material constituting a dye image-receiving layer is dyed fast with sublimating disperse dyes transferred from an ink sheet, a resin easily dyed with the sublimating dyes and capable of holding a received dye image is used as a main component, and as a resin dyed with the sublimating dyes, polyester resin, polycarbonate resin and other disperse dye-dyeable, solvent- soluble resins are used singly or by the mixture of two sorts or more of them. Preferably, also, an antistatic back-coating layer is formed by application of dyes mainly composed of water-soluble cationic high molecules and the dye image-receiving layer and back-coating layer have a surface specific resistance of not more than 10<11>OMEGA.cm at 20 deg.C and 50%RH. Then, the dye-receiving layer and back-coating layer of an image-receiving sheet are respectively brought into contact with an atmosphere of 60% or more relative humidity for 10 seconds or more. |
