<p>A method and apparatus for loading a container with cars. A car loading apparatus is a box shaped frame (10) having a rectangular base frame (13), side frames(11), end frames (12) and a top frame. It is assembled outside a container. Two cars are loaded into the frame in two tiers, one on the base frame and the other on the top frame. The upper car is lashed to the frame to compress its suspension springs to such an extent that its top is lower than the upper frame of the entrance of the container. Rollers (21) are mounted on the bottom of the box frame so that the frame thus loaded with two cars can be pushed into the container with human hands. Alternatively, the car-loading frame may be formed of a rectangular base frame and two gate-shaped gantry frames fixedly or removably mounted on the base frame. <IMAGE></p> |
