A radioprotective agent consisting essentially of 3-(3''-aminoalkyl)-2-arylthiazolidine or a pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof having the formula: <IMAGE> wherein R is a NH2R' or XNHR' radical in which R' is a C2 to C4 alkyl group and X is a C1 to C3 alkyl group and Ar is an aromatic aldehyde moiety; or a pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof.
