PURPOSE:To improve the computing speed by converting the data form that is internally handled into the data form that is handled by a peripheral device and then converting the internal computing element data output into a specific constant when the light intensity data, i.e., the interim result has the negative value during an operation applying an increment method. CONSTITUTION:The output of a computing element 1 is supplied to a general-purpose register 4 as well as to a process block 2. The conversion circuits 15 and 20 of the block 2 are selected and controlled by reference to a data control register 19. When the input data on a certain data conversion processing circuit 2 has a negative expression right after the output of the element 1 contained in a data processor, the value set at a substitute constant register 15 is outputted. This action and the output value are controlled by reference to the register 19. Thus the computing speed is improved. |
