<p>PURPOSE:To facilitate maintenance and reduce frequency in replacing filters by connecting a wet electrostatic precipitator to the rear of a coating booth through a duct and connecting further a dry bag filter thereto through an eliminator. CONSTITUTION:In a coating booth 1, spray coating is applied to, for example, a body 2 of automobile. Coating materials which have not been attached to the body, together with the air, are sent to a wet electrostatic precipitator 6 via a lower room 3 of the coating booth and duct 4 by means of a fan 5. Spray nozzles 7 are provided in an inlet port and in the upper region of the precipitator 6 to spray water into the gas from the booth and high voltage of discharge negative electrodes 8 is applied to resin dust to make particle diameters thereof larger. The enlarged particles are collected by collector electrodes 9. Then the gas is passed through a bag filter 11 to make dust content lower than about 0.2mg/Nm<3> and discharged. An eliminator 10 is provided before the bag filter to prevent scattering of water, preventing thereby pressure losses of the filter 11 due to the moisture from increasing. As a result, frequency in replacing filters can be reduced, making maintenance easier.</p> |
