Implantation material for re-establishing bone tissue in humans and animals has been devised. The implantation material comprises a particulate biocompatible non- organic bone tissue substitute, an aqueous fluid and a monoglyceride. At a predetermined temperature, the composition is in the form of a mass with low viscosity, which can be easily aplied to a bone cavity or a bone which has an implantation body. The viscosity of the implantation material increases as a result of the development of a cubic liquid cystalline phase, when the material is brought into contact with body fluid or other fluid which is present at or delivered to the application site. |
