摘要 PURPOSE:To economically obtain the subject compound by subjecting hexafluoropropylene to oxidative reaction in a two-phase system using a quaternary onium cationic salt catalyst, then activating the aforementioned catalyst according to a specific method and reutilizing the resultant catalyst. CONSTITUTION:Hexafluoropropylene is initially oxidized in a two-phase system of an organic phase, sparingly miscible in water and containing a catalyst composed of a salt of a quaternary onium cation expressed by the formula [A is N or P; R1 to R4 are (substituted) hydrocarbon, provided that the total number of carbon atoms in the R1 to R4 is >=8 per onium ion] and an aqueous phase containing hypochlorous acid which is an oxidizing agent. The organic phase containing the quaternary onium slat of the fluorine-containing carboxylic acid with deteriorated catalyst activity formed in the aforementioned reaction is then brought into contact with an aqueous phase containing thiocyanate ions and the formed organic phase containing the produced quaternary onium thiocyanate is subsequently brought into contact with an aqueous solution containing a water-soluble oxidizing agent to decompose the thiocyanate ions. The aforementioned organic phase is then reutilized in synthetic reaction for the hexafluoropropylene oxide.
