PURPOSE:To prepare the title resin compsn. with a good balance among mechanical properties by compounding a polyphenylene sulfide resin with a mixture or graft copolymer of a styrenic polymer with a polyphenylene ether. CONSTITUTION:The title resin compsn. is prepd. by compounding 40-98 pts.wt. polyphenylene sulfide contg. a polystyrene resin with 60-2 pts.wt. mixture or/and graft copolymer of 5-70wt.% styrenic polymer with 95-30wt.% polyphenylene ether. The compsn. may further contain, 1-60 pts.wt. thermoplastic elastomer. The resulting compsn., contg. dispersed particles with a minute mean particle diameter, has an improved elongation and impact strength without showing any degradation in the tensile and bending strengths and also without degrading excellent mechanical strengths such as a high elasticity inherent in the polyphenylene sulfide. |
