PURPOSE:To prevent steep change of the gear ratio by dislocating one of the timings of electric signals to drive a shift direction changeover valve and a shifting velocity changeover valve, so that the switching timings of the two changeover valves become identical, by changing-over of the shifting mode. CONSTITUTION:When the operating conditions of a shifting direction changeover valve 262 and a shifting velocity changeover valve 264 of a continuously variable transmission are both altered for switching the shifting mode, at least either of the rising timing and falling timing of one of electric signals from an electronic control device to be given to solenoid valves 166, 168 for driving them, respectively, is dislocated so that the switching timings of the two changeover valves 262, 264 become identical. This should prevent steep changing of the fear ratio resulting from the changeover time difference of the shifting direction changeover valve 262 and shifting velocity changeover valve 264. Thus avoidance is provided for impairing of the drivability due to steep changing of the gear ratio. |
