PURPOSE:To realize high speed and to save power while assuring copy quality higher than a specified level, by measuring the potential of a photoreceptor in the process of copy making, and making the latent image forming process, if this value is out of a designated range. CONSTITUTION:A copy machine measures a latent image potential on a photosensitive drum 1 by a potentiometer 26 just after copying to discriminate if the latent image can be used for copy making through the value. Taking the latent image potential after one copy making as solid lines in Figure, the latent image potential after a plurality of copies is lowered as a whole as shown in broken lines and the potential difference between the dark part A and the bright part B is also reduced. Thus, the maximum potential of latent image and the potential difference between the dark part A and the bright part B are measured if the value can be used for the next copy making. If the value is out of a designated range, since the latent image forming process is made again, the quality of copy can be assured and high speed and saving power can be achieved. |
