PURPOSE:To improve offset resistance and blocking resistance by specifying the ratio of the the THF-insoluble component of a binder resin and the mol.wt. distribution of the THF-soluble component to specific constitution. CONSTITUTION:The glass transition point Tgt of the toner is 45 to 65 deg.C and the THF-insoluble component is >=20 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. resin. In addition, the relations 1.0<=(Ms/Ma)<2.5 and (Ms2/Ma2)>(Ms/Ma) hold between the weight ratio Ms/Ma of the styrene monomer Ms and acrylic monomer Ma in the THF- insoluble component and the weight ratio Ms2/Ma2 of the styrene monomer Ms2 and acrylic monomer Ma2 in the THF soluble component. More preferably, the acid value of the binder resin is specified to 1 to 70 and the mol.wt. distribu tion of the THF-soluble component has at least one peak in the region of >=2,000 to <15,000 mol.wt. of the chart of gel permeation chromatography (GPC) and has a peak or shoulder in the region of 15,000 to 100,000 mol.wt. The toner having the excellent offset resistance and blocking resistance is obtd. in this way. |
