摘要 PURPOSE:To enable overwriting with good state even with rather small external magnetic field, to realize a small-sized recording device and to prevent dissipation of recording bits by forming three magnetic layers of perpendicular magnetization films essentially comprising amorphous alloy of rare earth elements and transition metal elements in a manner that the films satisfy specified relations. CONSTITUTION:Three magnetic layers are formed on a substrate, and they are the first magnetic layer having Curie point T1 and coercive force H1, the second magnetic layer having Curie point T2 and coercive force H2, and the third magnetic layer having Curie point T3 and coercive force H3. these magnetic layers are perpendicular magnetization films essentially comprising amorphous alloy of rare earth elements and transition metal elements, satisfying such relations that H1>H2>H3 and T1>T2, T3. By this constitution, good overwriting state same as that of a conventional medium can be realized even with rather small external magnetic field HE. With reduced external magnetic field HE, dissipation of recording bits can be prevented and the recording device can be made small-sized.
