ANTI-SKID DEVICE FOR USE ON PNEUMATIC TIRES FOR AUTOMOTIVE VEHICLES

The present invention provides an anti-skid device for use on pneumatic tires of an automotive vehicle comprising a supporting ring with an anti-skid mechanism rotatably mounted on the periphery of a mounting plate which is detachably mounted on a wheel of the vehicle by means of a retaining mechanism. The retaining mechanism comprises a handle frame which confronts insertion and fixation holes in the mounting plate, each hole comprising a large diameter portion and a small diameter portion; an operation frame movably received inside the handle frame and biased toward the mounting plate; and stoppers which fit in the large diameter portions of the holes. The anti-skid device is easily installed by pushing the wheel nuts through the large diameter portions of the holes and then rotating the mounting plate to move the wheel nuts to the small diameter portions of the holes, the large diameter portions of the holes being closed by the stoppers. The device is easily removed by releasing the stoppers and rotating the mounting plate in the opposite direction.
