Rotary power unit with sliding vane motor - has exhaust driving precompressor and heating combustion air

The rotary power unit burns fuel externally with air, with the propulsion gas produced fed to a sliding vane motor (6), in which it expands. The exhaust is discharged by the effect of the reducing size of the working chamber. The incoming combustion air is initially compressed, cooled, further compressed, and then heated, with the fuel introduced and burnt to supply gas to the motor. The exhaust from the latter drives the precompressor (1) and heats the combustion air before discharge, while part of the motor power is used to drive the second stage compressor (3). ADVANTAGE - Simple design, and reduced thermodynamic or friction losses.
