<p>PURPOSE:To enhance the availability of an adsorbent, to miniaturize an adsorption tower and to reduce the equipment cost by providing a means for injecting a gas into the adsorbent in the adsorption tower to enhance its adsorption and desorption efficiency. CONSTITUTION:The adsorption towers 1A and 1B are packed with an adsorbent, a gaseous mixture is supplied to one of the towers to adsorb the high-adsorption component gas and to increase the content of the low-adsorption component gas. The tower is then evacuated, the gas contg. the low-adsorption component is supplied to desorb the high-adsorption component gas from the adsorbent and to regenerate the adsorbent. The gaseous mixture, etc., are then supplied to the regenerated tower and pressurized. The process is repeated. The gaseous mixture is injected into the center of the adsorbent bed at the final stage of adsorption, and the gas contg. the low-adsorption component is injected into the center of the adsorbent in the regeneration stage and supplied from the tower under adsorption in the pressurization stage. Consequently, the adsorbent availability is enhanced, and the tower can be miniaturized.</p> |
