Sealed double glazing unit - incorporates outer and inner window units pivoting in different ways

Double glazing unit comprises outer window in a fixed surround frame to pivot about a centre axis through 180 deg. and an inner window designed as a tip and pivot window about a vertical axis close to the window edge. The pivot bearing of the outer window (11) should consist of bolts (8) which rotate in the surround frame (2) top and bottom and are led through interposed plastics slider blocks (14) fitting into the frame profiles to take the inherent window weight force. The outer window is sealed to the surround frames by means of outer (15,15') and inner (16,16') sealing profiles. The tip and pivot window (17) on the frame (2) carries a hollow intermediate profile (6) whose outer sealing strand (18) bears against the inside of the pivot window (11) to lock this fast. USE/ADVANTAGE - Unit is adequately sealed all round and locked in position using plastics blocks to take weight in long term.
