A hook device for hanging a coat or coat hanger in a car or other vehicle, the device being mounted by engagement with the uprights (16) of a head restraint (14) fitted to a seat (10) of the vehicle. The device comprises a T-shaped element (22) for passing between the uprights (16) of the head restraint, with its cross-piece resting against the uprights to the front and its stem projecting to the rear and carrying a hook on which the coat or coat hanger (32) may be hung.
