PURPOSE: To provide a fuel injection control valve which can easily control the timing of fuel injection and fuel flow by fitting a spool freely slidably and rotatably into a housing provided with a fuel inlet, a fuel outlet, and a spill passage, the spool being provided with a discharge opening, a spill control recess and the like on its outer periphery. CONSTITUTION: A fuel injection control valve has a housing 12 provided with an inlet passage 16 connected to a fuel pump 18, an outlet passage 20 communicating with an outlet port 22 connected to a fuel injector, a spill passage 24 communicating with the outlet port 22 at the other part of a bore 14, and a spill hole 26 communicating with a normal spill control valve (not shown in Fig.). A valve spool 30 is slidably and rotatably enclosed within the axially extending valve bore 14 of the housing 12. The valve spool 30 is formed by providing on its outer periphery an annular groove 50 communicating with the outlet passage 20, a recess 54 which has a wide end 56 communicating with the groove 50 and which tapers in the direction away from the groove 50 up to a narrow end 58, and a spill control recess 60 having a wide end 62 and tapering toward the groove 50 up to a narrow end 64. |
