Endless coated belts, particlularly for use on paper or textile machinery, are produced in elastomer with internal reinforcement. In the process an endless belt of fabric with set length and width is first made, this is held taut as the reinforcement across at least two parallel tensioning rollers and is coated on the top side with liquid or paste of elastomer, a specific pressure is applied to force the elastomer partly through the fabric; a second belt is introduced to run with the first and act as speparating agent between the coating and the pressure device so that the belt is coated on both sides in one operation. A preferred coating is polyurethane: the second belt is e.g. paper, thin metal foil or polyethyleneterephthalate film.
