Remote station multiplex operation - using pulse count discriminators for position notification from transmitter to receiver actuated by longer final pulse of selected sequence

A clock generator (2) sets the pulse count discriminators (1,3) which can be the decoder outputs of programmable countdown devices or shift registers with different selectable step counts. Pairs of pulses appear on control and data lines (S,I) from the transmitting station. When a preselected number (n) of pulses and AND-gated (30) with output (3n) of the receiver, only that number appear at the output (31). The final pulse is long enough to operate a mechanically inert device (32). ADVANTAGE - Operation is simplified and costs of components and wiring are minimised with all stations connected to same bus.
