The fan impeller which has a coaxially driven rotor is for an electric motor. The hub of the plastics impeller is joined to the metal rotor of the electric motor. A short barbed-hook projection (6) is arranged on an outer surface of a driven rotor-side element (5) and the essentially smooth inner surface of the impeller hub (2) is pressed on to the outer surface of the rotor. USE/ADVANTAGE - Method of effecting a join between an impeller and a rotor which is suitable for mass production.
