<p>A press bending mold (27) having an improved shaping element (40) comprising a flexible, continuous shaping surface (96) that is readily adjustable and easy to fabricate. The shaping element (40) is mounted on a support plate (65) by a plurality of adjustable connectors (88), and includes a resilient body (92) having an expanded metal grid (64) encapsulated therein. The resilient body (42) may be covered by one or a plurality of sheets (92, 97) of a fibrous, heat-resistant material which, in turn, is covered by a layer of fiberglass cloth (96), or the such.
