The appts. to pack a mass of water repellent paste in an electrical and/or optic fibre cable, or between the strands of a twisted cable, has a filling head (11,12) suspended from a pendulum (17,18). ADVANTAGE - The parameters for braking the material can be modified, without leading to stoppages, during feed of the filling mass and friction during mfg. to give optimum conditions for filling the cable material with the packing mass.
