A monitoring signal is fed to each monitored switch contact. The signal is fed back from the latter and evaluated by comparison with the transmitted signal. A coded monitoring signal is used with serial transmission to each switch contact. Pref., the monitoring signal is binary coded, with a new code generated upon each transmission using a pseudo random generator, the individual bits of the monitoring signal pref. of differing lengths. USE/ADVANTAGE - Checking position of each switch contact. Does not require expensive leads for signal transmission.
