The writing implement has an inner part (5) with a cylindrical bore which is a close fit over tghe tip of the pen etc. The inner part is connected to a cylindrical skirt (7) of larger dia. by three radial ribs which are inclined to the cylinder axis. The inner part is enclosed in an outer part (1) which fits over the barrel of the pen (15). In the event of the cap being swallowed by a child, the cap has a through passage for air which prevents the child from choking. ADVANTAGE - Facility for mass prodn., and improved safety.
