A magnetic anisotropy measuring device having electromagnets which are excited with exciting currents obtained by pulsing two-phase alternating currents and are arranged so as to generate a rotating magnetic field, and having a sensor part for sensing a torque applied to a sample. A sine wave output and a cosine wave output of a two-phase oscillator (1) are pulsed by a zero-crossing switch (2). Electromagnets (5, 6) are excited by these pulsed two-phase alternating currents to generate a rotating magnetic field and a torque applied to a sample (8) is detected by a sensor part (7) such as a piezoelectric sensor. The size of the device can be decreased since the rotating magnetic field is generated by the excitation and the consumed electric power can be reduced by using the pulsed exciting currents in comparison with conventional devices in which very heavy electromagnets rotate. |
