To produce electrical power from solar radiation, the radiation is directed onto a thermoexpansible rod 11 using parabolic reflectors 12 associated with a housing 12. The rod 11 expands and drives a hydraulic cylinder 27 via an articulated linkage 14, 24. The hydraulic cylinder 27 drives a hydraulic motor 28 which in turn operates a generator 31, at the outputs 32 of which the electrical power is available for use. Each reflector may be alternately covered and exposed by a cover movable between its two positions once every 30 seconds, thereby causing reciprocation of the rod 11. <IMAGE> |
