PURPOSE: To obtain inexpensive and superior manufacturing method for manufacturing a total page width scanned image-forming array from plural relatively short scanned image-forming sub-units by inserting a thick film-like key formed on the surface of a sub-unit into a key groove formed on a thick film on an array fixing member and positioning the sub-unit. CONSTITUTION: A thick film-like layer is stuck to the surface of a sub-unit 20, having a scanned image-forming element 12 and a circuit 16 and patterned to form keys 18. On the other hand, a page width array fixing member 24, provided with a substrate having a thick film-like layer 23 allowed to be patterned is formed, and the patterned layer 23 has a plural number of accurately positioned key grooves 28 having shapes complementary to the keys 18. Each sub-unit 20 is turned upside down, the keys 18 are inserted into respective key grooves 28 of member 24, adhesive 36 on a structure member 30 is put into contact with the rear face of the sub-unit 20, in a state bringing one end of the key 18 into contact with a close end part 31 of the groove 28, and then the adhesive 36 is cured. Then the structure member 30 is removed from the member 24, together with the accurately positioned sub-unit 20. |
