PURPOSE: To obtain a new cosmetic composition that comprises chitosan, glucosamine and at least one of organic acids selected from gluconic acid or succinic acid and can particularly improve persistent moistening or moisturizing and skin surface conditions by treating the epithelial dermic layer therewith. CONSTITUTION: This new cosmetic contains chitosan, glucosamine and at least one organic acid selected from gluconic acid or succinic acid. It is particularly preferred that the cosmetic contains 0.2-5wt.% of chitosan, 0.2-5wt.% of glucosamine, 0.2-5wt.% of gluconic acid and 0.1-5wt.% of succinic acid. Chitosan is preferably obtained from crab shells and contains acetylated amino group less than 15wt.%. The cosmetic increases moisture and improve the epithelial conditions. It can be used in the forms of cream, toner, body emulsion, water soap or dermatological bar.
