摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent rear wheels from being abruptly changed in the steering direction at the time of acceleration and/or deceleration by computing the steering angle ratio of front wheels to rear wheels in response to vehicle speed conditions and acceleration/deceleration conditions, determining the target steering angles of rear wheels based on the aforesaid steering angle ratio, and thereby steering to control rear wheels. CONSTITUTION:A vehicle 2 is equipped with a main steering means 8 steering front wheels 10 and a steered means 12 steering rear wheels 14 in or anti-phase with the front wheels 10. The rear wheel side rack pinion mechanism 26 of the started means 12 is driven by an electric motor 32, and the electric motor 32 is concurrently controlled by a control means 34 based on respective detected signals from a vehicle speed sensor 40 and a front and a rear steering angle sensor 36 and 38. In this case, the control means 34 first computes the steering angle ratio of front wheels 10 to rear wheels 14 in response to vehicle speed conditions and acceleration/deceleration conditions, and secondly determines the target steering angles of the rear wheels 14. Following that, the rear wheels 14 are stopped so as to be controlled in such a way as to be of the target steering angle.
