The measuring component of an electrochemical sensor has an inert carrier electrode whose parts projecting from an electrically insulating sheath are covered by an electrical conductor consisting of a stable polymer coating in an aqueous medium. To produce a CO2 electrode, the measuring component may be arranged in a casing (17) filled with an H2CO3/HCO3 buffer, the aperture (18) on the sample side of which is closed off by a CO2-permeable diaphragm on the polymer coating (3) of the measuring component (1) or, to form a reference electrode, it may be arranged in an electrolyte-filled casing (13) with a diaphragm (15) on the aperture (14) on the sample side. |
