PURPOSE:To give an original jam signal, to stop the carrying of the original and to issue an alarm by properly judging a situation in the case that an original which should be copied is drawn out after it is inserted in the induction part of an original carrying path once when the length of the carrying direction of the original which is inserted in the induction part in the required manner is equal to or under prescribed length. CONSTITUTION:The leading edge of the original is inserted in the induction part 52 of the original carrying path 50. When the leading edge abuts on or closely contacts with position regulation members 100 and 168, it is detected by detectors 236 and 242 and a signal is given. Then, the position regulation members are shifted to a non-preventing position and an original carrying mechanism starts working. In the case that the original in the insertion part is drawn out when the size of the carrying direction of the original which is manually positioned is shorter than the prescribed length, the original is not detected by the detector when the original carrying mechanism works by a small prescribed quantity after it starts working. Then, a signal is given by an original jam detection means and the carrying of the original is stopped. Besides, the alarm is issued. |
