PURPOSE:To improve the work efficiency for generating a program by using both a character font dictionary and a term data base and integrating a read character into an application program as a term having a prescribed function. CONSTITUTION:When each character of slip is read by an image scanner 8, images of each character of its slip are displayed in a lump on an indicator 10. An operator designates a character recognition area, for instance, by a cursor operation at every character of the displayed image, and also, designates a term recognition range so as to contain a character-string which becomes a term. Thus, each image designated by each character recognition area is converted to each character code by using a character font dictionary 36, and also, a character-string consisting of each character of the image designated by the term recognition range is converted to terms having function information, respectively by using a term data base 37, and the converted terms are integrated into an application program. In such a manner, the development manhour of a fundamental part of the application program can be reduced, and the work efficiency for generating a program is improved remarkably. |
