The safety helmet employs the use of a hybride material of mineral fibre and organic fibre to improve the shock absorption of the helmet. In molding the helmt, mineral fibre mat is placed in two or three layers in the mold to be overlaid with an orgnic fibre fabric of pref. nylon, polyester or polyolefin. The fibre layers are then impregnated with an unsaturated polyester resin to be in the ratio of fibre 40 to resin 60 in weight, the resin having the viscosity of 2-4 poise. The product helmt improves shock absorption and develops delamination at the interfacial boundary between mineral and organic fibres to further the shock absorption.
