The invention concerns a method for manufacturing a wall element 2 of the sandlime type, in which a semi-plastic sandlime composition is pressed in a press form and hardened to form a plurality of blanks which each have an essentially parallelepipedal form and in which a pair of opposite first longitudinal sides have a greater width than a pair of second opposite longitudinal sides which are arranged at a 90 degree angle relative to the first ones and which engage in recesses 8, and the individual blanks, after pressing and hardening, are divided to form divide surfaces 4 with a rough or rustic structure intended to form the façade surface of an individual element. During the pressing operation, the blanks are placed edgeways in such a way that the said first longitudinal sides are oriented vertically in the press form and the said grooved recesses 8 are designed as grooves, depressions or wave formations set into the bottom side and/or top side of the blank, and the divide surface is arranged at right angles to the press direction in order to coincide with the run of the material in the blank. <IMAGE> |
