Using the spontaneous tendency of particles to float, the sepn. process ues a reactor tank for biological cleaning of water, the tank being relatively high so as to produce a high hydrostatic pressure at its lower end. Parts of the gas developed with the biological activity in the reactor are inserted into tank to cause the high hydrostatic pressure to release into the water flowing through the reacvtor. - This gas soln. in the water is accompanied by simultaneous pressure redn. in one of the two interconnected flotation containers, whereby the small gas bubbles released with the pressure drop function as flotation medium and adhere to and lift in the water formed slurry particles towards the surface from which they can be removed. |
