This invention relates to a process for contracting sleeves fixed on twisted multi-strand cables of overhead electrical networks, characterized in that it consists in introducing the sleeve, engaged on the cable, between two grooved rollers disposed symmetrically with respect to an axis passing through their generatrices, the section defined by the grooves of said rollers being equal to that desired for the sleeve to be contracted, and in driving these rollers in rotation so as axially to displace the sleeve which is thus subjected to a rolling operation.
