The invention relates to a device making it possible to overcome the rolling resistance of a wheel. It consists of a disc (1) connected to the wheel, on which two arms (5) connected to the driving force (12) enter into rotation. The disk (1) is equipped with two carefully orientated slideways (6) in which a roller holder (10) can slide, kept at rest between two elastic means (7 and 3). The arms (5), under the action of a driving force (12) push on the rollers (10) which rotationally drive the disk (1). When there is resistance on the rotation of the disk (1), the roller holder (10) moves towards the outside, thereby compressing the elastic means (7) which has the effect of increasing the lever arm and therefore the force. When the resistance decreases, the elastic means (7) becomes predominant and returns the roller holder towards the centre; this, increased by a flyweight (14) acting at high speeds, makes it possible to obtain a substantially constant driving force. <IMAGE>
