Portable safety bracelet which measures the pulse rate and triggers an alarm, it being possible for the bracelet to be used in water (swimming pools, the sea or rivers) or in the air. The device according to the invention consists of a bracelet 1 comprising a sealed casing 2 in which the pulse rate sensor 3 is arranged, this sensor 3 transmitting the information to the electronic circuit 4 powered via the battery 5 and operated by means of the button 6. The circuit 4 sends the order to the emitter 7 to output a signal 8 as soon as the pulse rate value deviates from defined limits. The signal 8 is received by the receiver 9 which controls the alarm 10 and/or the external control casing 11. The button 12 allows the device to be tested. <IMAGE>
