The invention relates to a lifting device, which comprises a chassis 1 having at least four wheels 3 and a lifting beam system 2 placed on the chassis. To facilitate levelling of the lifting device, the lifting device according to the invention is characterized in that each wheel 3 individually can automatically be displaced in the suspension mounting 4 of the wheel vertically in relation to the chassis 1 and the other wheels in order to maintain the chassis in the horizontal position. Preferably, each wheel has been suspended in the chassis by a hydraulic cylinder 4, which is governed by a proportionality valve. <IMAGE>
