<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the production of an abnormal discharge by providing a protective tube and a discharge wire support insulator at each end of a discharge wire. CONSTITUTION:A protective tube 12 is provided at each end of a discharge wire 10 and enclosed with a discharge wire support insulator 13. The discharge wire support insulator 13 has the open end part of its cylindrical hole facing toward the central side of the discharge wire and the outer periphery of the insulator 13 is partially supported by an insulator receiving rib 16 and the edge of a discharge wire support cover 17. This arrangement secures a creeping distance from the protective tube 12 through the open end part 14 of the insulator 13 and then through a cylindrical outer periphery to a discharge wire support part of a front cover 1, i.e., the insulator receiving rib 16 and the edge of the discharge wire support cover 17, whereby the production of an abnormal discharge can be prevented.</p> |
