The invention relates to a storage tank (holder) 1 for gases or liquids, comprising at least one external layer made from a thermally insulating material 12 capable of affording protection against fire. According to the invention, this tank (holder) is characterised in that the said insulating material is supported by a rigid framework 3, 4, 5 carried by the tank (holder) and applied against the external walls of the latter, and in that the said insulating material is separated in a sealed fashion from the ambient atmosphere by a continuous external jacket made up of elements which are welded together continuously so that they are gastight. <IMAGE> |
