The invention relates to towed hydrodynamic devices and has as its subject a device (4) which is constituted essentially by a hydrofoil consisting of a profiled plane (6) and of a steerable rudder flap (7) connected by a rod assembly (11) to an end piece (8) for fastening to a towing cable (3). The fastening point (A) is situated at the rear of the main centre (F1) of the foil, and the steering angle (ss) of the flap (7) varies in the same direction as the angle of incidence (i) of the plane (6).
