PURPOSE:To prevent boundary areas of respective printing images from standing out by a method wherein peripheral areas of a printing image by one time of scanning of a thermal head are mutually lapped over, and correction is added to an image signal so that a composite printing density becomes approximately equal to the printing density of areas other than the peripheral areas. CONSTITUTION:A thermal head 3 is shifted by (x) in the direction of lines. Under this condition, printing is performed by scanning a printing paper 2 in the direction shown by arrow, which crosses with the direction of lines. In this case, adjacent two printing images 11, 11' are lapped each other by a quantity of (y) at the peripheral areas (12). To the level of an image signal which is fed to the thermal head 3, correction is added while corresponding with the head address. At either scanning, the printing density by respective heating resisting elements 4 is selected so as to tilt toward zero (0) gradually at both end parts, and at the peripheral areas 12, printing images are lapped each other, but the composite printing density is made to be approximately equal to the printing density of areas other than the peripheral areas. Therefore, gaps do not generate between respective printing images, and as a whole, an image with an extremely high quality on a large sized printing can paper can be obtained.
|
