PURPOSE:To increase the reaction speed of AF operation by combining and handing plural photodecting elements which constitute a sensor as one element, and making the quantity of output data less than the number of the photodetecting elements and operating a defocusing quantity. CONSTITUTION:A signal processing circuit consists of an interlocking mechanism part 15 which interlocks a slave lens system 16 for focus detection with a focus adjusting lens 11, a CCD line sensor 17 of two systems for focus detection, an A/D converter 18 which converts the signal output of the line sensor 17 from analog to digital, a microcomputer 19 which performs defocusing arithmetic according to the information from the A/D converter 18, etc. Further, the device is provided with a focus driving motor 20 which drives the focus adjusting lens 11 and a motor driving circuit 21 which controls the motor 20, which is driven according to the defocusing quantity found by the signal processing circuit 19. Consequently, the reaction speed of the AF operation can be increased with the simple constitution. |
