The present invention relates to a process for monitoring a network of electronic stations each capable of generating at least one function, especially for automobiles, characterised in that it comprises the steps consisting at each station in: i) generating an activation signal when a previously inactive function of this station is invoked, ii) generating a deactivation signal when a function of this previously active station is idle, iii) detecting the activation and deactivation signals generated by this station, iv) incrementing the counter (540) incorporated with this station by one notch with each detection of an activation signal generated by this station, v) decrementing the same counter (540) by one notch with each detection of a deactivation signal generated by this station, and vi) generating a snooze signal (570) for this station (S1 to S4) when the counter (540) after having been decremented reaches a zero count. <IMAGE>
