PURPOSE:To increase mechanical strength, particularly nerve, to improve machinability at the time of machining and to enhance transparency and film sliding properties by conducting lateral uniaxial-orientation by using high-gloss rubber modified polystyrene. CONSTITUTION:A film is composed of a polystyrene parent body is which discontinuous phase consisting of the particles of a styrene homopolymer wrapped by a diene rubber thin-film is dispersed uniformly. The mean grain size of the particles is brought to 0.1-0.7 microns, and the film thickness of the thin-film does not exceed the quarter of the mean grain size. The film is manufactured of laterally uniaxial-oriented rubber modified polystyrene two or six times at 90-120 deg.C having a 1-10wt.% diene rubber content. An orientation temperature is kept within a range of 90-120 deg.C, preferably 95-105 deg.C, and selected by shrink characteristics. |
