PURPOSE:To obtain a recording with a high picture quality and high grade even when a recording medium is other than a designated paper by a method wherein recording is performed on a recording medium from an ink of a color of which dot density for recording color information is high, first. CONSTITUTION:When a multi-color image which corresponds with an input image information is recorded on a recording medium by tone reduction mixing process using inks with a plural number of colors, a CPU 21, when it discriminates the completion of receiving of a recording data for a designated quantity from a host unit 14, applies color conversion to the received data and stores it in a YMCBk buffer for recording which is provided in a data memory 23. Then, the contents of the YMCBk buffer for recording are counted for each color, and respective data number for YNCBk is discriminated, and a recording order is set so that recording scannings are performed from the largest recording data number, e.g., when it is C>M>Y>Bk, in the order of C M Y Bk. Then recording process is performed by conducting up to a maximum of 4 times of scannings per color by the set recording order. |
