The invention relates to an electrically controlled lock for a motor vehicle door. The casing of this lock consists of the assembly of two compartments: the first compartment (1) contains the closure mechanism; the second compartment (2) contains the electrical control members; the two compartments are assembled to make between them an intermediate space (3) which contains the locking mechanism. The second compartment (2) is sealed from the outside. This structure with three regions improves the reliability of operation. <IMAGE>
