-The invention relates to a closure for bags of the type made of plastic material with string handles. -The closure (1) is noteworthy in that it comprises two strips (3, 4) of an appropriate height, which are intended to be fixed along the opposite top edges of the bag and provided with respective pairs of holes (10) for the strings (C), the said strips having their external faces smooth and their internal faces having, in the upper part, pairs of longitudinal ribs (6a, 7a and 6b, 7b) of a certain thickness, such that, due to the height of the strips, the ribs approach each other in order to close the bag when the handles are held. <IMAGE>
